If you care, I didn't want to say anything until I knew it was a done deal...

I was accepted into a sober community arrangement. Yes, I'll have internet, I still have my phone. I'm just so glad to meet some new people and some people like me. A place where we can be a new family and not have that liquor cloud hanging over us.

I'm just really mad that it's taken 13 months of begging, applying, and praying to get a room somewhere. There has to be a better way of helping addicts. It's a shame that I've been sober for over a year, I could probably do this on my own, but THAT's when it comes through. No more. We need to band together to help other addicts. If I owned a home and had a few open rooms, I'd rent it to another in recovery in a heartbeat. I've been stuck in a one bedroom ******** for so long, I'm not even sure what I'll do. Moving in with a gang in recovery actually seems like luxury to me.

I guess I'll let ya know.

That's fantastic!! It IS sad that it takes so much, and so long to get help, when we really want it, but I'm glad you're going to be surrounded by a "gang in recovery". I'm even MORE glad you'll still have internet and can still come here
