Sad indeed. He was always inspirational. We'll miss him a lot.

Never heard of him before today, but I watched the video associated with the Baltimore Sun article.

'Scuse me. I think I've got something in my eye.

Father Martin

Never liked a rehab that didn't have Father Martin tapes. He had some good jokes for a preist. I liked him alot.

OMG...you stirred up a lot of pleasant memories. Father Martin's Chalk Talks were very big when I was getting sober in North Jersey. Thanks for the info...may he rest in peace.

I had never heard of him either and it's a shame. After watching a few YouTube videos he was incredibly charismatic, intelligent, compassionate, and witty.

He doesn't need to rest in peace - I'm pretty sure he is loving every minute of where he is now.

That blows me away. just out of nowhere, I started thinking about him, & watched him on youtube a couple of weeks ago.(!) Got to see him about 22 years ago, and while iIwasn't ready to quit back then, he gave me a lot to think about, And I put him up there with Bill Wilson............(!)

he had kidney problems I believe and had to take dialysis but I`m not sure of the exact cause of his death.
I think he was in his upper 80`s

I liked the chalk talk talk he did,and I have 6 or 7 other talks he gave here on cassette somewhere...
