Question How many got sober thru AA? Or any other method?

I've got 9 and a half years in by the grace of God and the fellowship of AA.

I hope, this post would stay around for a while. Might be interesting to see who's still on here in a year's time.

When, we use the word's cunning baffling and powerful, it's due to the fact so many people try and fail.

I'll never be recovered from drinking. I always hope, to keep it in remission.

23 months today

No AA - just came to that very real choice a lot of us do - live or die.
I've put in a lot of work and a lot of helping other ppl out here since...

seems to be workin' for me so far

I have almost 10 months.
I am grateful to be a part of an amazing AA fellowship in the town I am in. I have a lot of friends, I do a lot of service. I work the 12 steps and have a great sponsor.
And no matter what, I do not drink.

Sober since 12/18.. counseling.. support of friends and family, and of course the decision and committment to take alcohol out of my life. So far so good!

Awakenings

To watch the eyes of men and women open with wonder
as they move from darkness into light,
to see their lives quickly fill with new purpose and meaning,
and above all to watch them awaken
to the presence of a loving God in their lives --
these things are the substance of what we receive
as we carry AA's message.

Rehab, AA/NA, a great family, two wonderful children and SR. I also have another parenting message board that has been a big support in just getting me to pull my head out and take care of business.

In April I will make two years.

HP + AA + Me doing lots and lots of hard work on me which is ongoing.

We've been an exciting successful triangle since 6/7/81

Wishing everyone the joy of recovery...

I have recovered from a seemingless hopeless state of mind and body, however, I am still recovering and will continue to do so until the day I die.

Love and hugs,

God struck me sober July 8th, 2004. He saw fit to lead me to the program of AA to learn how to stay that way. It's been a good deal so far.

14 months next week...

I got sober in AA but I no longer attend. It's just not for me, on so many levels (won't go into it here ). SR is how I stay sober, along with therapy and treatment for my depression.

If asked, and you did I would say my method is Carr, but it's really a hybrid of Carr/SR/AA/Wqd.
Carr however made my quite "easy" as his methods removes the white knuckling daily struggle that hurt so many of us in the first few months.

Best to all and ANY method that keeps you sober rocks!
