Why do you love SR?

Hello All!

This is why I love SR:

I can come here Any Time and stay as long as I want.

We have Terrific moderators.

I always learn something. Lots of different people with lots of different opinions.

The price is right!

Although the trolls drive me insane, in some threads they are what bring the community together. We may pick at them, but generally not at each other. I appreciate that.

If you want it to, it REALLY works.

I speak with NO ONE about my alcoholism. I have a hard time reaching out to people. The people that have reached out to me here, are probably a large part of why I am still sober (at almost 8 months!). Invaluable, if you ask me.

Can you tell I needed a SR fix before I started my day?! THANKS!

Hey coffeenut,

I couldn't agree more. This is my first time really using an on line site like I use SR. I feel like I am in a community of non-judgmental supportive people who are there for me 24/7, and most of them really understand what I am going through. I have been using SR since Nov 08 and had about 45 days without drinking then, had about 3 weeks drinking again, and now am > 30 days and doing really well.

I love that I can post new topics and get really good input. I can support people who are newer than I am, and I can just put down my thoughts and feelings in numerous threads.

I also get this little worry from time to time that SR might go away - probably an irrational fear but still a fear. Does not keep me awake at night but I have gown to need this site and I hope it stays alive for a really long time because it is clear that it really is helping people!

I keep the connections in my heart all day long - like friends stay with you..

thanks for the post!

SR is the closest thing to a sanctuary that I have. I thrive off of the positive people and the overall positive air this place has. I've briefly skimmed over other recovery sites...but this is my home.

SR has been invaluable to me. I don't go to AA, I do not have any close friends that can relate to my issue with alcohol. This has been so important to me these past few weeks.

I've made some contacts here with people I may become and remain close to for the rest of my life.

On SR you can touch so many with your story, one may never know the help they have given others due to the enormous reach that this forum has.

Thanks SR, and thanks to the people that make it what it is.

It is therapeutic for me. I have learned a lot by reading posts from others who have alcohol issues, and it makes me feel good to share my experiences with others who might benefit. Anytime I feel like possibly drinking, I come on here and read, and by the time I am done, my craving is gone. Thank you SR.

Like Massey SR is more or less my sole support system. I come here everyday, usually 3 or 4 times and so far because of SR I have not had an urge to drink.
Thanks to all the members and all the staff that work so hard to make this site what it is.

The people here are simply amazing. So much love, understanding, and selflessness that it keeps me coming back for more!

This site has been a miracle and continues to be. I'm sure the other mods are pretty spiffy but I only "know" CarolD and she rocks - "go CarolD...go CarolD...it's your birthday..."

This is a great thread coffeenut, very positive. Everyone's already shared some good things they love about SR so I can't add much.

I found SR a little over 2 years ago while looking for something to add to my current program of recovery in AA, what I found was more than I bargained for. This site has more love and support than I've even seen in a forum.

Oh, and I also met my fiance here, although I'm not suggesting that anyone uses SR as a dating site!

God Bless Sober Recovery..!

SR has been my life line to recovery.

You are ALWAYS here for me. Just like
Walmart....you are open 2 4 7.

For that and you I am truely grateful.

I was told that i never have to go thru
anything in my life by myself ever again.
And its true....u have been here for me
thru thick and thin. For better or worst.
In sickness and health.....hmmmmm

Sound like a marriage made in heaven...

I can come here rain or shine. Holidays.
Anyday......

Sober Recovery never closes....lol

I cant say enough about the people
here in SR. Ive never met in person
yet there is a close bond ...fellowship
with many of u.

That common bond we all have here in
recovery.

All I can say is what an AWESOME GIFT
SOBERRECOVERY is.

Thank you.

SR has been my main support system for almost a year now, my life line. I feel as if God watches over this forum, because through SR miracles are happening each and every day.
SR has also helped me to come out of my shell, I feel safe to share almost anything here.

I Love You All!!!

There is something for everyone.

A forum just about any suffering soul can wander into and relate to someone in

there. Maybe not me (lol), but someone.

SR protects me.

No one can harass me here, or stalk me.

And, I cannot get out of line with anyone else. This is a clean and respectful forum.

(I know what I'm talking about, believe me)

The admin and mods not only work hard to keep things running smoothly..and folks

in line, but are also a great source of support.

They have been to me.

I have found a wealth of friends here.

I feel protected here.

I am encouraged to share with respect here.

I love SR!

SR!

I love SR because I would not have been able to make it my very first week sober without being able to come here, read, post and get all the support, encouragement and hope I needed to make it. This is my first attempt (and hopefully my only) at getting sober and I've made it a week becase of SR and the people here. I also love SR because I can come here whenever I feel like it no matter if I feel good, bad, nothing at all and can still find something that will be very helpful to me and my recovery process. Thank you SR and all the great people here!!!

I think it's the sense of community.

We understand each other...

for the most part. lol

I've made some friends here that I really care about, even tho they're on the other side of the globe.

And in early recovery the information here was a great filler when I coudn't talk to the sponsor.

SR really adds to my recovery and my Day
It's a microcosm of Life; the friendships, the fun, the tears at times, the drams and even if I don't agree with everything said, it gets me thinking about things outside of my little mind.

Since May 13, 2008 I haven't picked up a drink. Couldn't make that statement had it not been for stumbling upon SR. It literally has kept me away from drinking and now I use it so I can give back to those that might need it. Husband loves SR too even though he doesn't read it, but he loves what it has done for me and I have some dear, dear friends now through this website that I wouldn't have otherwise.
