Neat little side effect of sobriety

I'm a card magician/manipulator. In the week-and-a-half that i've been on the wagon, i've noticed a significant increase in my ability to handle the pasteboards (cards). I can cut, shuffle, spring, fling, toss, spread, catch, and basically do sleights better than i have in literally years. What's the catch? As you can tell, my mind is in better contact with my hands and vice versa. It's like waking from a horrible nightmare to find the sun is shining. That sounds sappy, but i truly do love working with cards and had never seen the impact booze was having on that love. It was hidden behind the alcoholic haze.

The hell with the bottle! I've been blowing minds with magic all week long and my hands haven't felt this good in some time! Yowza!

...just thought i'd share ... next, i'm coming for you, guitars! You heard me!

theaocp,

I love that! Thanks for sharing.

I was watching a show on Friday that made me belly laugh. I noticed myself laughing so hard and I thought wow, this is new (and very fun!).

I love the side effects of sobriety too and good luck with your guitars.

My singing voice came back and I was able to work again. Sobriety brings so much magic.

Good for you!

I just like waking up and not feeling like I'm going to die! Not being drunk or hungover makes it possible for me to do what I need to do to keep up the house and care for my dogs. I like that!
