Finally feeling strong
After lost of on off drinking and reading lots on here. I have finally got to 4 days. I am feeling really sick and achey but am resolved on not drinking. I think i have got a cold visited my dr and told me to rest up for a while. On one of my drinking nights lately asked my bf if he thought i was an a we both were drunk he said yes. Last night he called me on way home from work said he fancied beer i said no! We are not drinking any more. So it was not bought could tell he was desperate too. Does anyone else have this happen when your resolve is strong and your partner tries to pull you down. I wonder if he is one too he drinks but not like me he does nt get drunk or make an idiot of himself but likes to drink most nights. He denies he has a problem and not like me. My other concern is i am still smoking cigs being sober now i am worried about risk of getting ill with that.

To protect my fragile sobriety...I did break up with my
still drinking lover. I also quit working and hanging
in bars. I stopped seeing friends who were excessive
drinkers.
I started working in an office...found new friends in
AA meetings who shared the lifestyle I desired.
This was necessary for me as I was not staying sober
until I took drastic action.
You have some difficult decisions to make...and I wish
you all the best ...

Great to hear you are four days off the sauce. Just keep putting "one foot in front of the other", one day at a time. You can do this.
Maybe concentrate on not picking up the first drink for now.You can always deal with the smoking a bit later on.:ghug2

Second - Don't worry about your cigs for at least a year.
Here is a good link regarding nicotine and recovery:
