DAAD Hearing results

Not to happy with the results. Was turned down for a full drivers license again. The lawyer I hired said he could help me but $1.200 down the drain. You would think 11 years would make a difference on there decision but it did not help.

But anyway been talking about this hearing for almost a year and thought I would post my results.

I'm sorry. I know how hard it is, when we're working really hard to improve our lives and the system just keeps wanting to knock us down. I've had to accept it, but I sure don't like it.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

Hi 1963comet!
I am sorry, I do not know your story.
You have not been able to get your license back for 11 YEARS????
How and why? I got my first DUI in May and I am in a program. I have never heard of anyone losing it for more than 1 year??

That does seem awfully harsh. I'm sorry for your disappointment in the lawyer. That's a bummer.

Comet that is a real bummer, we have a few folks in the rooms in my area that it took them 10 years to get thier license back, most of them do get at least a restricted license within a year.

Did they give an explanation as to why? Do you have a restricted license?

Hey thank's guy's

I have had a restricted since 2005. But the restricted is with the interlock device. Blow and Go is what some call it.

But the cost of an extra car, insurance, plates, $150 to install and $100 a month has been impossible to come up with. If I can do this I will get a full license. But I have to do it for a year.

I talked with this lawyer and he said it would not be a problem. Well he was wrong. I should of used the money I payed him to get a junker. I weighed out the cost of lawyer or car and the lawyer was cheaper. He said he could take it to court but wants $1.500 to do it. I thought court was included. If I was aware of this I never would of hired him.

Just out of curiosity, why would you need an extra car? I have an IID on my car, also required for 1 year, and it isn't that bad but your situation sounds a little different.

If I had the interlock in the only car we have, could not go anywhere except the places I'm allowed to drive. Work, doctor, meeting. I would be the only one allowed to drive it. And this car does not belong to me.

Gottit. My restriction doesn't limit when and where I can drive, it just states that I have to have the device on any vehicle I am driving for 1 year.

I hope some option or loophole turns up for you.

:praying
