coke a cola substitute
Well done on deciding to quit drinking - I can relate to how you drank and how you felt afterwards.
I too live in South Africa now and there is a great aa network here. That is what has kept me sober - and happy. Every area of my life is unrecognisable - career, health, looks, money situation, relationships, happiness, wellbeing - all thanks to recovery, AA and the God of my understanding.
Give it a try.

PS Sugar addiction (coca-cola) can be bloody hard to beat, I developed terrible sugar addiction in recovery - however, I didn't drink. For me whatever keeps me away from alcohol, especially in the first year, I say go for it. The only thing you CAN'T do is drink - eventually you will not want to (recoil from it as if from a hot flame) and in time it just disappears and becomes a non issue. One day at a time! Well done.
