I swear...it's insane how much JD seems to be a drug instead of simply an alcoholic beverage. Just checking in because I'm yearning for my sober days.

Alcohol is a drug, but a slightly different animal. I used to love Uncle Jack, now I simply could care less about it one way or the other. So what is up Jake?

It's funny, I don't miss the vodka, gin, rum, wine, beer, etc. But the thing I miss most is the ol' Uncle Jack.

If you're yearning for your sober days, then just get them back. Get sober and work recovery.

One time, I directed a show and almost everyone in the cast gave me a bottle of Jack as a thank you gift. I thought it was Christmas.

I wish I could relate but I wasn't hooked on jack, rum, gin or anything in particular, I was addicted to more.

It didn't matter what the alcohol was, I just wanted more.

What I have learned from my 20 year drinking career and 7 years of recovery is that the alcohol was not the problem. The problem was and is that I am an alcoholic. When alcohol hits my system it sets in motion a reaction that causes me to obsession and crave more alcohol. I had to change me and stop putting that first drink in me before I was able to find a solution.
