You didn't give credit to the Holiday Inn Express which imparted greater introspection and self-knowledge to you. (I'll drop the subject after this post.)

Alcohol has never solved any problems, only intensifies them and creates new problems. Life will deal you problems drunk or sober. I've found that I can solve problems easier and more rationally sober.

So I have gotten an appointment to see a drug recovery specialist now. It's on the 29th. Wonder if he can help me finding another place to live...

drunken *******, i wish you the best for the 29th. there are many d&a specialists who are brilliant and can refer you to all sorts of services. many rehabs provide opportunities for short-term half-way houses. after i finished quite a long rehab, i was able to finish my uni degree, get a fantastic apartment and a great job and stayed clean for a number of wonderful years. you just have to want it hard enough. it seems you do so try and stay positive and, importantly, as honest as you can.

I quit because I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.

drunken: good for you for talking to your doctor about this and for seeing a specialist on the 29th! I hope you keep us updated on what the specialist has to say, too.

The thing is, life will always feel unmanageable WHILE you are still using alcohol. I can hear the alcohol in your words, twisting how things are perceived for you, WANTING for you to keep drinking. I've re-read my earlier posts from when I just started this site, and wow....the addiction REALLY warped how I thought...still does at times.

I promise you that if you want to stop, you CAN! And you absolutely will feel tremendous relief and manageability in your life again. It can only get better, right?
