Angry three weeks of sobority

I am still sober after three weeks. I do feel great, but I still need to find a job. If I cant find a job, the Demon from Heck will convince me to drink again. My sobority depends on keeping myself ocupied with work. I do get depress because I feel like no one wants to hire me. I am looking for work every day, but it does get me down.

I found talking about my need for a job
before and after meetings
helped me find a position.

It was out of my usual career path
I did have to train...and it worked out great.

Well done on your sober time...

Hi Hector,

Glad you're posting again. AND I am so glad that you're not drinking while you're unemployed. I would be very tempted to do that. I'm 3 weeks sober also.

Being unemployed sucks. I got laid off about 4 years ago and it took me three months to find a decent job. I'm educated and have an impressive resume. I was really bummed. I went to the redwoods and the beach a lot. Fresh air made me feel better. I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Congrats on the 3 weeks sober, I have seen what Carol suggested to be very useful, one may not find a job at a meeting, but they can find out who is hiring and that makes a big difference. One thing I can tell you is to take a job of any type for now.

Think about it, are you more likely to hire an unemployed person or an underemployed person? An underemployed person demonstrates that they are willing to work no matter what, this could be the difference between getting a job or not.

In exactly the same position but not doing anything about it yet.
Have you been watching the Olympics?...That was me who won the gold for procrastination.

Today's excuse is it's raining and handily the landline is incoming calls only.

Gonna pick up if I don't get off my butt and find gainful employment and sod whether my, quite frankly, outrageous brilliance will go to waste lining the pockets of a capitalist piglet.

Going to a 3D meeting tonight with sharing this in mind and to readjust to dealing face to face with strangers, I reckon with the time I've spent in SR I've mellowed enough to not want to take a sharpie to the 12 step banner.

Congrats on the clean time Hector, keep up the good work.

And NOTHING can convince you to drink unless you listen to it. Even then it is your choice.
