Thanks to all inquiring about my out patient program
I have only had two classes so far, but it's SO much better than residential rehab IMO. The counselors are much more laid back and are actually friendly. I'm feeling really good about this so far, so wish me luck. Darn thing is, is that now I am getting my panic attacks back again. I think it's from the stress of the whole situation. I had a Dr's appt. yesterday and my blood pressure was through the roof. I do get anxiety attacks, but it's been a while. I guess it's because of all of the added stress. Anyhoo, I will now be taking Lexapro for anxiety and Atenolol for high blood pressure/anxiety (which I have never had until the additional stress). I also need to buy a home blood pressure kit to monoter my blood pressure at home.

Hi flower...glad you are liking you IOP. The health stuff will probably get better fairly rapidly. I had some fairly sever blood pressure problems but after about 6 months it came down to where I may go completely off meds for that someday (per my dr.).
in sobriety and with some of the tools they give you in your outpatient program you will find that the stress becomes easier and easier to deal with and doesn't build up as you take care of things as they come up at the begining.

Glad to hear things are going well flower, so many times my greatest worries never come true, when I was drinking I projected everything into the worst case outcome all the time and of course would try and drink the worries away. Now that I have been sober for a while I have learned to stop projecting outcomes of everything, I simply do what needs to be done when it needs to be done and accept the outcome for what it is. Usually the outcome is good as long as I do what needs to be done.
Mountains out of mole hills was my life when I drank.
