Its a little crazy...
I, myself can't believe I'm doing it.
Instead of going to the beach with my family on Wednesday, I'm choosing instead to stay in town so I can go to my 5:30 meeting and FINALLY get my 30 day chip! I thought about going to the beach, and just picking it up the next day but for some reason its really important to me to pick it up on exactly 30 days. Hopefully there will be other days this summer to go to the beach.
Thanks, SR for being here for me. I know for a few weeks there it didn't seem like I would ever stay sober for more than a few days.. and at that point I'm not sure I wanted to. Now that I've seen how good things can be without drinking and how happy I am w/o drinking I want to stay sober! Some of the feelings I've been having lately are so hard to describe. Just today I realized that the feeling I was having was simply joy.. just happy because I was alive. Its been YEARS since I felt joy for no other reason than just existing, loving others, and being loved.

I took my 30 day chip not very long ago and the one I took on exactly 30 days was the most important one (and my sponsor was not even there)! My sponsor has told me that I must take 3 each time (one for me, one for God and one for the newcomer) and like I said, the first one was for me. I am SO happy for you and btw, I think you made a wonderful choice. The beach is not going anywhere and if you stay sober you will never get that 30 day birthday back!!!
