Yeph . . . this disease wants nothing more than to kill us. . . after it has tortured our minds, bodies and souls for years.

Glad to see you're still alive.

Each realization adds to a foundation on which to resolve your issues... Keep working on that foundation and you will build a new building.

Patrick this is the 1st and last time I will respond to one of your posts. I am taking a hard line approach with you because I care more about rather you live, than if your feelings get a bit bruised.

If you really want to stop drinking, why don't you get off your ass and do something about it before alcoholism finally does kill you.

If you are not done yet, by all means, keep at it. Pain is a great motivator.

I understand alcoholism, I suffered from it. I also understand guys like you. Every few months you pop in, and dump. Numerous people give you advice, love and encouragement. Do you follow their suggestion? No.

Your posts are selfish and cause harm to people who actually invest their energy into caring about you.

Nothing changes if nothing changes, I am tired of hearing about and seeing people die from alcoholism when they are given so much support. It appears there is nothing anybody can say to you

I don't know well enough to know what brings you back Patrick, but I hope you do keep coming back because it means you're alive, and you haven't given up hope.

I hope you find something, sometime, here that makes a difference

Patrick you are in my prayers, in you I see myself 22 months ago, I pray that you will take action instead of seeking pity.

Hi Patrick, I don't know you either, but, if you are here, I hope that means you care to some degree whether you live or die. D said it perfectly. I hope that you will find something here that will turn the tide toward recovery.

Patrick,

Duh-oh! mmmmm Donuts! You know one of my favorite episodes of the Simpsons is when Homer tries to quit drinking and sees Duff Beer everywhere! After that would be the one where Bart tries to do something (I forget what) and fails and Homer's sage advice to his son is "You know what the moral of this story is Son? Never try...!"

I think a lot of us are like Homer, running through our lives oblivious of the consequences to ourselves and others... run on Patrick!!

When you're done check out A.A. and start really living again!

John

Hi Patrick.

I'll tell you the same thing I tell you every time you post. You know my number, call when you are ready.

Love and hugs,

I'm glad you're not dead yet, but it does sadden me to see guys like you dying the living death of active alcoholism. Like Rob said, I am not going to pat you on the head and tell you you are going to be ok. Because you are not ok. You may as well get the job done and if it doesn't kill you it will render you ready to accept any path to sobriety that is put in front of you.

tib, I seem to recall reading one of your posts on a thread in the Thwelve Step forum saying that you are working your own program and it seemed to be working. If that is the case why are you having difficulty staying sober?

I don't see why comments like this are necessary?

Oh, and congrats on whatever success you are having and best of luck remaining successful.
