What is your favorite "keep ya sober" saying?
"My mind is full of anything I choose to put into it"
...that includes "stinking thinking!
" I am responsible for myself and for my actions. I am in charge of my mind, my thoughts and my life"

Whenever I want a drink, which is everyday...I repeat until I don't...
It works if you work it, cause I'm (you're) worth it.
Kinda cheesy and predictable, but it brings me immediately back to the last meeting I was at.

But for the Grace of God, there go I.....
Thoroughly have we seen a person fail who has rarely followed our path (instead of rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path)
He ain't worth dying over!!
TELL THE TRUTH
Every bit of what I've been through was absolutely necessary to get me where I am today!!!!!

Great thread!
The past couple of weeks I found myself saying, "Well, looks like I picked the WRONG week/month/day to stop drinking!!!" Of course, I'm on day 69 now, but I guess it helps to remind myself when I'm stressed how I would have "handled" it! The stress passes, and it sure is glorious to have no guilt or shame and to feel GOOD about myself! As a result, I generally begin to chant the serenity prayer over and over and over!!!
I always like to remind myself too of the one, "the drunk takes a drink, the drink takes a drink, the drink takes the drunk" (since I'm not a man, I made it gender neutral!
I really enjoyed the "play the tape to the end one" as I've been missing the "good" feeling, but I remind myself that one drink is too many!
Peace,
Karen

There is an 82 y/o man in my group who has been sober almost as long as I have been alive and he says something everytime he shares which is so true. He says "If you let this program teach you anything, let it teach you one thing. Let it teach you to keep coming back...... if you're able to get back".
I have too many to think of just one but love hearing the one above!!
Take care,
Kellye

Taz says this from time to time and it helped me a lot: "are you full yet"
Whenever I think a drink would be ok, I remind myself that I already had my fill. I am all fulled up. I did my share. I had my lot. I drank until I was full and fuller and fullest... there's nothing good left to gain from that life anymore. So I don't need to drink today because I am already full.

Great thoughts Rimmy (and Taz). I am full, I am done, I will now move on. A recently read Bible verse has been a great inspriation to me from the book of Jeremiah:
"For I know the plans I have for you" delclares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"
I cling to "plans to give you hope and a future". What else can we really want?

Since reading this, I've said it to myself time and again. It has kept me focused on where I want to be and what I want to receive in the life that I'm living.
I've also been telling myself that there is nothing that I did while drunk to have a good time that I can't do sober...
