Day 17, question about symptoms...
Hi all, I haven't been posting here much for some reasons, ahem, other than that I have a question... so I am on Day 17 without any booze or nicotine, I've realized it will only ruin my life more and only good things can come out of being sober.
For the past days it's been real hard mentally, been feeling ocd/anxious/paranoid as usual, about phrases/words/numbers/months and more, but out of nowhere tonight around 11pm I begun laughing at some of the least funny stuff to the funniest stuff, and then I got out of breath, ever since I've felt like ... high in the head, light headed and it kind of is worrying me, any idea all?

May be nothing more than some of the depressive effects of alchohol finally lifting , I got a few attacks of the sillys after stopping both booze and also after stopping antidepressant meds, brain chemistry is a weird thing , any physical symtoms?

another question , how old are you? if you are still short of breath after 20 minutes , without any good reason , you should call a doctor , don't think there is anything minor that can cause that
I would say that if you get anymore 'weird' feelings that can't be explained logically that you should consult your doctor. Other than that, I think that the withdrawal effects should be gone by now, but since I'm not a doctor or an expert, I can't really say. Best to see a doctor.
Paulos Hon, you Go boy I'm very Proud of you
If is of any
help I'm 45 days clean
but when I was on my

and even now

I give you a lot of credit for working so hard on your problem. I know you have had a tough road of recovery but to me it seems as if you are quite motivated and extremely dedicated to your recovery. I just wanted to post and say that there are tons of people who wouldn't have kept on trying if they were in your shoes. You sound like an individual who sees a problem and tackles it head-on until you win. Glad to see you posting again! I get the impression that you work hard at whatever you do regardless of what you are doing.

Thank you kindly to all who posted especially you Butter-7 ;D Courage is not freedom from fear it is afraid and going on... interesting ;D day 17 and boy it's been an interesting run, I think at last I'm finally going to make a month, finally. I wonder if it's the booze going away from me, or Risperdal/Lamictal working better..

Hey Paulos, congrats on 17 days!!! That's awesome! I have to say I've read several of your past posts, and this one makes more sense than most of the others. It seems like you are much more clear-headed than you were even last week... I didn't understand some of your posts from the past couple weeks.
Keep it up... you'll feel more and more better as time goes on!

I'm on meds for depression anxiety and bipolar. Since I quit drinking my meds are working as they should. Alcohol interferes with these meds so while I was drinking I was more depressed cause my zoloft couldn't do its job. Glad I quit drinking. It only made my emotional conditions worse.
The shortness of breath maybe more from the nicotine than the alcohol. I quit smoking 3 years ago and found it took awhile for my lungs to claer. I would cough up some nasty stuff and be quite out of breath even after the simpilest things. Congrats on Day 17. Day 13 sober for me!
