3 weeks sober and sleepless:(
3 weeks sober and sleepless:(
Just wondering if any of you can offer me some advice.
Ive never been a great sleeper anyway but this last 10 days have been awful
When i first quit, after the initial two day low i slept like a baby, then a week later i just seem to be unable to sleep.
Im waking up exhausted and with nagging headaches that are making me really irritable
Just wondered if this is a common symptom of early sobriety and if anyone has had similar problems,
Im excercising tons, walking everywhere, not drinking coffee/tea after 4 pm but its making no difference.
Reluctant to see my gp as hes a lazy git and will no doubt shove pills at me, which i clearly do NOT want at this point .
Any advice/ experince of this please?

Hi Super,
I went through the same thing. Can you take a nice hot shower/bath before you settle down for the night? Also, I use pure lavender oil on my pulse points: both wrists and right behind my ears. Helps me.
This will pass once your body settles down..hang in there.

I wish I could remember the name of it, but there is a relaxation routine that helps a lot of folks get to sleep. Basically you stiffen every muscle group in your body and then totally focus on relaxing as much as possible one part at a time. If I recall I would start with one foot..... once I felt it was as relaxed as possible I would do the other foot..... for some reason by totally focusing on relaxing one certain area all the rest of you starts to relax.
I was one of the lucky few when I sobered up, I had no problems....... I am now going through some sleep issues, I sleep but wake up tired!!!! As with your problem I am sure this will pass with time.
