Welcome! And I hate to disagree with you, but I think there are worse places to recover than the south of France. I think a lot of people would gladly trade places!

Recovery is hard no matter where one lives. Some live in an apartment over a bar. Some live with an active spouse. Some have drug dealers for friends.

Glad you are here! You can do it!
