Gifts

I received a gift the other day and I thought I would share it. I had my eye on this pendent for a number of years and my wife ended up surprising me with it.

The second I opened the box and saw the gift I was taken back to when I was 18. My high school sweetheart gave a gold chain as a gift. The reason why I remembered this gift was that I sold it for drugs. I remember being between paychecks and needed some booze and drugs. I told myself I would just buy another one when I got paid so knowone would know the difference.

When payday came I decided to just say I lost it. Well over the years I would lose two more of those gold chains before my girlfriend would catch on and it would take another decade before I did.

I'm so greatfull for God, my sobriety, and for my wife.

1cor13, thank you for sharing, It is beautiful.....I had something similar on a keychain for years until the metal weakened in one spot of the loop..I have it put away until I can find someone to repair it for me....

That was really nice of your wife to do that for you.

I know that after I stopped drinking, I have gotten back everything I lost plus more.

No matter how far down the scale we've gone , we will see how our experience can benefit others.

Pray, that always stays close to your heart !
