Hello again

I used to post some time back and came back today to help me accept that my drinking is getting worse, that it is a problem and that other people have given up so therefore so can I.

I'm seeing an addiction counselor but have missed a lot of sessions since before Christmas. I go to see him again on Monday, I need to make some decisions and I need to get some support. We will be discussing that in the session.

I go back to Uni a week Monday so need to get my head sorted. I've also just started a new antidepressant/anxiety drug and want it to work, I am scared that I am drinking while trialling this drug.

Uni will be good as it places structure into my life. I've spent the holidays drinking myself stupid, getting into debt and having no routine. I've just spent a couple of weeks getting myself out of the "do I want to go back" mode but came out of it knowing that I *have* to or I'll screw up my life and my liver even more.

Anyway, I wanted to say hi again. Thanks for being here.

well, try to be positive, make living sober a part of your -new routine. Perhaps, AA meetings and reading the blue book a bit too would help. Stay casual.

You are 100% right about needing support! I was lucky that I had plenty of it when I accepted that I am an alcoholic. I could not have been successful on my own.

It has been a while since I have visited this site too - Let me know if I can be of any help!

Dave
