I may be one of those you refer to here. It is simply because my thank you button does not work since the upgrade. If I find a post useful and appreciate it being posted I do make a point to thank the poster as I believe it is important to let someone know that what they did was appreciated. I do usually state that my thank you button is broken.

Really and truly, I hate to type.
I do read many more posts than I respond to, I don't respond unless I have ES&H to share.
I'm an ACOA, a recovering meth addict, clean a few years, who has an occasional alcoholic beverage.
I've learned a lot form the program and from the codies who post here.
I'm not attending any meetings at the current time, although I was "addicted" to them in the past, attending daily or even 2-3 times per day!
I can promote the program, because it worked for me...
I can not continue to attend the meetings in my area, due to many conflicts of interest...

Well...cuz I'm still drinking

I roam around here from time to time, but haven't posted in a long time as I don't feel can add anything. I look here for similarities to myself.....almost 60, been drinking for years, drink about a bottle of wine a day. I've quit for 7-10 day stretches, which are more boring than anything, and then start again. I like to drink....like the taste, like how it mellows me out, etc. Yet, I wish I would/could just quit. Maybe I don't cuz I really deep down just don't want to. I wish all the best for you and hope you do better than I.

Just reading other peoples comments has helped me greatly. Sometimes it's better for me to just read the wisdom of others...

Just remembered an added reason why some may not reply...

We don't think that what we have to say is worth posting.
Many times the newbie would think that being so new, they don't have anything worth saying.

What I have seen time and time again though... the newbie posts some of the best stuff because they are in it at the moment where I need to post from memory of the past.

I can tell you what I did, they will tell you what they are doing. Between the two of us... you are bound to find some good info I would think.

Plenty of response now!! I like to read certain stuff - helps me understand better.
Some I dont respond to because others have said what I thought anyway.
Some I dont know enough, some I dont want to offend. Yes sometimes you can use your own experience as an example (I think thats all some do - I dont think its because they like to talk about themselves) I like to read others thoughts and experiences and I think it helps others realize they are not alone.
This is about getting the support we need at the time and we all get that in different ways. It doesnt matter if we dont agree with something or respond because we are all at different stages in our lives, thats all.

Have you considered the reasons you read threads and not respond to them? I have not met anyone who responded to every thread they read. If they do either they are not reading many threads or have a lot of extra time on their hands.

I go through sort of cycles, where I respond a lot (probably too much) and then it dies down. I'm on a down cycle right now.

How are you problemchild?
