Hey Taz, Tae Kwon Do is my art I guess you figured that from my username. If your getting that itch to do it you should go for it.
I wanted to make sure I thanked you. I was able to relate to you in many ways from the years of trying to quit your way to your desciption of yourself and what you needed to change about yourself in order to have success. Many here had a hand in my decision but I consider you a major factor in it. I remember thinking man this guy really believes in this program, maybe there is something to it. Once I started thinking that way it was only a matter of time. So thanks, and keep at it buddy.

Pink I love and can attest to those promises coming true, here are the ones folowing the 5th step I love as well and can attest to:
1.Once we have taken this step, withholding nothing, we are delighted.
2. We can look the world in the eye.
3.We can be alone at perfect peace and ease.
4. Our fears fall from us.
5. We begin to feel the nearness of our Creator.
6. We may have had certain spiritual beliefs, but now we begin to have a spiritual experience.
7. The feeling that the drink problem has disappeared will often come strongly.
8. We feel we are on the Broad Highway, walking hand in hand with the Spirit of the Universe.
TKdan you are quit welcome, you will discover as you grow in the program the true meaning of the expression "You have to give it away in order to keep it."

When I first got into the program I really had to focus on me, it was all about me, at that time it had to be, I knew I needed help and I knew I needed to change and with the guidance of my sponsor and what I picked up in meetings I did, I really started to change as I worked the steps. I found freedom in the steps, alcohol as I have found was but a symptom of my disease, the steps helped me to discover me and what I needed to change, they led me to learn how to accept my past and live in today.

Some where after step 5 I suddenly became aware that my program was no longer about me................ it was about WE!!!!!! Today I find more joy and satisfaction in helping others and seeing others joy then anything else.

I have escaped "Self" and entered the world, I am part of the world today, not the center of it.

I remember thinking man this guy really believes in this program, maybe there is something to it.
I am left with little choice, it saved my life, but not only did it save it, it gave me new life! I can honestly say there are 3 parts of my life:

1. My childhood.
2. My drinking starting at about age 12.
3. Real life starting at age 52.

I was thinking the same sort of thing today...

Life v 1.0 Childhood
Life v 2.0 Age 14 to 44 (The drinking years)
Life v 3.0 Release date 15 JAN 2008 (sobriety)

I shall not downgrade to previous version.
