I'll be back.......

hi everyone.....it's been awhile,i know......i started drinking again in december......then,my mom passed away right before christmas.....she struggled for a week in the hospital, then she slipped into a coma for a day and a half before she passed....it was the hardest thing i have ever had to do....to watch her slowly slip away from me....
now that it's been a few weeks now,i need to get my act together....I am facing many changes that could be positive ones....and i have to stop drinking again...so i can face these changes with a clear mind and a positive attitude.....
just wanted to let you all know where i've been....and you will be seeing me back here again....
hope everyone else here is ok....KT

Hey karrotop,

Welcome back. Losing a parent is hard and it takes time to grieve. Alcohol doesn't help that process. When I lost my mother to cancer back in 1997, it sent me into a 5 year tail spin. When I lost my father to old age last year, I didn't fell less bad about it but I didn't have to drink to deal with it.

Glad you are back.

Sorry to hear about your mom. But glad to see you are trying to re-start a positive path. I'm sure that would make her happy were she here.

Hang in there

Looking forward to your return. I'm sure your mum wouldn't want to see you carry on killing yourself either.

Im so sorry..I went through the same thing in 2003 and I can tell you it will take about 2 years to get over the loss. Don't be scared though and remember that she is in a good place. I have gotten through by wearing one of her rings and I always have a piece of her, so keep something of hers close to you and she will always be there. Be Strong!

Good to have you back KT. I too lost my Mom in July and it was rough, very rough, though I didn't need to pick up a drink. All of the excuses are gone for me and I hope for you. Please let me know if I can help.

Thanks,

R
