I'm not really sure where to post this. I've lost a friend.

A friend of my exH's and mine was killed in a car accident yesterday. He was on his way to work. I've known this man since 1985. He still worked with my ex. When I would call the shop, he would always answer the phone and we would end up chatting for a few minutes, keeping up to date with our children and life etc. He was a good support for my ex, who doesn't have many friends.

He was 39. A ladies man. A father to a son. Handsome. Rock n roller. Sarcastic and funny. Seemed like he was finally getting his crap together.

Ex came over last night and told me. He's a wreck. We cried together and I'll be going to the funeral etc with him. I'm grateful that we can still do that together.

Any of those who pray please send some up for his son. Being a father was the best thing in Pat's life.

I'm going to my home meeting. Thank God.

You know my Sean lost his dad when he was only 4 and today, Dec. 6th his dad would have been 38, so I will say some very special prayers.

I'm doing ok. My ex is having a very difficult time. I called the shop today to speak with him and it was so very weird that Pat didn't pick up the phone. The car accident is in the newspapers, authorities seem to think that the person who hit him was having some kind of medical crisis. I'm including that person whoever they are in my prayers as well.

Pat's son left this on the guest book linked to his obit:
