My new sobriety date.
I have a new sobriety date. I had been going with Feb 3, 2007 but I got to thinking about my one year aniversary and well when looking at the calendar the day didn't fall on the day I expected it to. I expected it to be a tuesday as my sobriety date is the day after the superbowl XLI which was on a sunday. So I went and checked and to my suprise the super bowl was on Feb 4rth!!!!!!
So my sobriety date is Feb 5th! How I ever came up with Feb 3rd is beyond me. I have no clue!
Today I am up really early and couldn't fall back to sleep but I wake early on this thanksgiving day sober. I am thankful that on the day I decided on a whim to go to an AA meeting because I just wanted to make it through one day without drinking... that there was a meeting near my destination. That there was a room of alcoholics who were happy and shared experience I could relate to, strength I didn't have, and hope I wanted!
