Back from my honey moon, it was a great sober time. Went to a casino resort that only served alcohol in the bars, not on the floor. Stayed away from the bars and had a good time playing bingo of all things LOL. Did't win any money, but won in a good time. Had really good food and ate til my heart's content. Now back to the grind stone of school, kids and work. Thanks for your support and well wishes and hi ya cuz bon bon!
Congratz Zoomer! I too am taking the plunge, (again lol) in August. We are actually serving alcohol at our wedding/reception.
I am reminded of the last part of Working With Others in the BB.
"Some of us still serve it to our friends provided they are not alcoholic. But some of us think we should not serve liquor to anyone. We never argue this question. We feel that each family, in the light of their own circumstances, ought to decide for themselves." (From 1st edition)
That is a personal preference. I personally am not going to worry about it for three reasons.
1. I am spiritually fit and if I keep up and keep on my emotional sobriety, my physical sobriety will be in solid.
2. My sponsor is one of my guests.
3. God will be with me.
It will be a beautiful day. I am focusing on the special occasion, not the alcohol that will be there. I plan on drinking water or soda.
Work the program, practice what you have learned in AA, and enjoy your special day!
