Thanks everyone! I have been poking around here a bit lately...
I can't believe I am 44 today! Thank God I am a little over 3 years sober, and that I made the decision at 41 to keep my butt in an AA seat!
I can't even imagine -- a) what I would look like at 44 if I was still drinking. b) how fat and out of shape and what other HEALTH ailments I would have right now if still drinking. c) what it would be like with no wife or kids at this age -- because at the rate I was going, I would surely have been divorced. d) how it would be to be unemployed -- I could go on and on. I'm not sure I would have even made it to 44 if I'd kept on drinking....
It's never too late to get sober... still doing it one day at a time!
Thanks again for the birthday wishes...

Astro... good karma! I find a lot of folks come into the rooms around 40-41. For me, that was plenty of years of drinking!
Hey, looks like we are neighbors (at least we live in the same general area) -- what part of the valley do you go to meetings at? I typically am a NW Valley guy, but need to expand my horizons (as well as my # of meetings every week!)....
