Just For Fun
I wanted something that wouldn't instantly give away my real identity, lest someone search one of my more common user names. So, I took part of one -- Bella -- which is a nickname that has absolutely nothing to do with my real name, but which some people (my ex, friends) started calling me for whatever reason, and the last name of my celebrity crush, Matthew Fox.

On another forum unrelated to recovery, I picked an unpronounceable, difficult to refer to username, not realizing it would have to act as a substitute name. As if your parents named you J45ZQD. So here, I wanted to come up with something that could at least be read and mentally pronounced. Other than that, it has no significance.
Oh, and I'm hiding my true identity from Astro.

As many of you in here already know I am a police officer. Signal 30 is the signal for a wanted person aka person with warrants in the county I work in.
If a police officer was out with a suspect and he or she ran the suspects information, (social security number, Date of birth, name, etc) , if the suspect has warrant(s), the dispatcher will come back over the radio saying the suspect has a ,or is a signal 30, or multiple signal 30's.

Well it is a name I use on other boards but since Taz & Tazman were taken I tacked on my birth year.
Why Taz? My alter ego that used to surface on occasion when I was drinking, it is also a nickname due to him coming out plus I have a Taz tatoo.

my name's emily. when i was drinking, my friends and i used to freestyle (rhyme over homemade beats) in my friend's kitchen. we made up MC names, and the one my biggest friend made up for me was "rhyme" in the middle of emily. hence, emimily. nowadays, one of my biggest friends in recovery has changed the spelling (because he's an MC too, but sober) to E-Mym-Ali. his MC name is Dr. JK47.

My step daughter is Megan, I was not around for her naming sadly.
All my girls names start with a K, don't ask, I don't know why, it just worked out that way!

i do what i can to help the home team, taz. i LOVE the name micah! and, my best friend in the whole wide world is named megan... she's my cousin, and we were born on the same day in the same room with the same doctor and the same nurse... we're like, 4 hours apart. twin cousins! my mom went into labor and when she got to the hospital they looked at her and said "oh, your sister's here too." pretty rad...
Back in college - 1992-93ish, I first learned of usenet groups and IRC...
My favorite band at the time was The Stone Roses, one song is titled:
(song for my)Sugarspun Sister...
I decided to use Sugarspun as my handle in those UNIX chattrooms but misspelled it (it happens). so sugErspun emerged. I have been using it as an internet alias for 14 years now..
It's a great song if you ever get the chance to hear it, I highly recommend a listen.

Like Doug, this is the name I was born with. SR was my first board and I had no idea we could just make up a name. Originally, I was anns, for Ann S, my name in the rooms, but everyone thought it was plural of "ann" and a troll nicknamed me Anus so I dropped the "s"
Next time I shall call myself something more colourful.

During one of my Navy shipboard tours I was System Test Officer (STO) on a AEGIS destroyer, and the guy I relieved used to be called Stoman, and people started calling me that too. I told them to call be Stobert instead, a play on Dilbert, and it stuck.:mock
