Hi Karen, that sounds fantastic.
My drinking came on in leaps and bounds when I worked for a small company a few years ago with a psychopath boss. Not psychopath as in cutting people into pieces, but psychopath as in "totally manipulative but strangely charismatic, no capacity for empathy, a scarily single-minded determination to completely use people to achieve his aims." Apparently they're great characteristics for starting a business, but terrible ones for running a business - and as far as I could see, half the people there were starting to drink very heavily from the pressure and demoralization.
But most of them probably cut back when they quit, as everyone did eventually. I just kept on down the road of drinking more and more, even after I left.
Good luck with the job, it sounds great!

Did we work for the same boss?
I keep in touch with my friend who still works there. She is still drinking after a DWI, she goes out drinking with her coworkers..it's just not good.
I got sober while I was still working there. Once I stopped drinking with the boss, things went downhill FAST.
Boy, I am sooo grateful not to be there anymore!
Big hugs out to all who are surviving the workplace!
