I don't do religion either. One of the misconceptions about the program is that newcomers almost always seem to confuse God with Organized Religion. They couldn't be further off base.

Religion does not equal spirituality any more than spirituality equals religion.

I personally am not religious but I work on spirituality.

I have met religious people who did not have an ounce of spirituality in them.

I have also met some religious people that were extremely spiritual.

So no, one does not have to be religous to be in A.A.
