First Day
Greetings,
In the last year my drinking has increased to a point of serious concern, and find myself drinking several beers most nights. I am looking for an online community to give & receive support to quit this degrading habit. Today is my first day of sobriety. I have been reading Allen Carr's "Control Alcohol" book, which is helpful, but an online community seems to be the way to effectively break this addiction.
Chris
P.S. I hope this post is in the correct location(?).

Hello again, and thank you all for the kind words. I can't believe it has been 5 years since I first made this post! I'm back, and hopefully this time for good. During this period I managed to be alcohol free but only 9 months last year. I have been lucky that I haven't hurt anyone nor myself, and it's only a matter of time before I do. So, I've been searching for the means to quit permanently. I did finish Allen Carr's book, and at the end he tells you it's not really about "control", because the only way is to give it up for good. I still haven't found a way to ensure alcohol stays permanently out of my life, but maybe it is simply a matter of will power. I'm here hoping to connect with people to learn & empower myself to be sober. If anyone has any tips please let me know. I'll continue to explore the site for help, and keep track of my progress.
Best Regards, Chris
