Resolutions
Resolutions
Last Sunday was my first AA meeting. I was really anxious and didn't know the procedure for the meeting, so it was really awkward. Since I don't think I'm up to daily meetings yet, I've resolved to start going regularly on Sundays and build up from there. I think I can do this because I hate the place I'm at right now. I'm sick of wasting so much money on booze. I'm sick of being so damn weak and tired all the time. I'm sick of waking up with mystery bruises and scrapes. I'm sick of the look on my mother's face when she sees me, and the disdain in my boss's voice.
My second resolution is to finish reading the big book. I'm about 60 pages into the miniature version right now, and I'm finding it really interesting.
Final resolution: no guys. Period. No flirting, dating, fwb visits, anything until I've gotten sober. Take care of one complication before adding another, right?
Thanks for letting me ramble.

Hi Tellus,
I think you've got a good attitude .
For me, I had to kind of rebuild my life when I stopped drinking. My life had become so small, centered around alcohol, there wasn't much left. Just take small steps and keep focused on your goal.

Hi Tellus,
It seems you have some sound resolutions that are workable. I had to do the same thing to be able to focus on my Sobriety before anything else. I wanted sobriety more than any one thing in my life when I quit this last time. I knew I had to do what was suggested in the Program of AA. "It works if you Work It!"
