Question well

i finally came out about my alcoholism today. i need help. dropped in and out of AA. moved from down south where my family is to DC a year ago. Bored and more lonely than ever. Just desperately seeking for a way to get back on track.

Welcome to SR dcgirlie, I went through detox near DC, if you are going to give AA another shot there are a ton of good meetings in the area, plenty of laides only meetings if you would prefer them.

For me AA is an absolute must. I understand the program is not for everyone but I've seen too many success stories to not recommend it. Why do you keep dropping in and out of AA? By the way AA can be an excellent way to travel around going to rallies and conventions.

Keep posting and try and find a support group if AA doesn't work for you. It is VERY important that you don't try this alone, after all drinking has been a big part of your life and it is vital that you replace the void with something substantial or else relapse is far more likely.

Good luck, were all here for you,
Shaneo.

Welcome, glad you are here. We are all in this boat together. Some of us just spent a little longer in the water before we got on board. :ghug
