Embarrassing question

Well in early sobriety my sex drive went way down which in a way was a good thing, my wife being on prozac has the sex drive of a rock, but then again before prozac when she was in the depression mode she had no sex drive.
I do not take AD meds and my sex drive is back now, not like it was when I was drinking though, when I was drinking sex was the only thing I cared about as much as I did about alcohol. There was never enough sex nor alcohol.
I have read and heard that many alcoholics sex drive does goes down drastically in early sobriety.

I found that the lower levels of serotonin & beta endorphins due to not drinking anymore lowered my sex drive as well. BUT - having sex (even when you are not in the mood, so to speak) has been known to raise those endorphins naturally & eventually you do become more in the mood again. Just my own personal experience.

Here in America, s-e-x is one of those taboo subjects. I think we are trained to be embarrassed by talking about it. But we shouldn't be. It's nice to know it's in the BB, thanks Barb.

I didn't lack a sex drive becuase in early recovery i was only 22.lol
I'm actaully kind of greatful that i don't those crazy, crazy sex drive
like i use to as a young man, becuase i would do the most stupid
things.
But some people gose through that.
I don't think i need any pills even thou I'm older becuase it still
has a mind of it's own sometimes. I'm glad to be where I'm at
at the moment becuase i can actaully think straigth for a change.
Kind of like most of my decisions are not centered around sex anymore.
I'm actaully more acceptence or more open to sex as i got older.
At one piont in my life i thought it was a dirty thing.
Pretty ironic if you asked me.

I have none, zippo, nada, zilch, sex drive also. But, I also haven't had any since about a year ago. Probably depressed, with all the alcohol. Although I'm happy in my sobriety, the old drive hasn't reappeared. I meet with a psychiatrist tomorrow and will bring it up. Actually, maybe it has something to do with my age and hormones also. I don't know, and I really don't care at this point. But, I bet my husband does. At this point, I don't feel the need, desire, whatever. Maybe it's because I was too active 20 years ago, and I'm worn out! LOL.
