Whoo Hooo!!!
Whoo Hooo!!!
I'm happy to say that after 3 1/2 months of being unemployed, I have been offered a job! I interviewed last week for a medical billing position with a company in town. They are filling that position with an inside employee, but they liked me so much that they offered to train me in another position, pharmacy tech, which is not only a step up for me but also a good skill to learn.
I'm so excited!!!! I feel pretty darn good that they thought enough of me to find another spot for me :-).
YEA!!!!

Hi Merlotmama,
Way to go!!! My first job after I sobered up and got help with my depression was one that my counselor for depression saved for me until I finished my counseling. I had to wait six months after treatment ended to apply. I was still going to college & was working another job half time.
This was a job with the Geriatric Program...helping the Elderly with depression/grief/ & behavior problems..& some alcohol problems. It was a casemanagement position & I already had ten consecutive years working with the Elderly to add to my college BA Degree in Psychology. The job position was still there when I was ready.
I worked up to be a Geriatric Mental Health Counselor and really loved my job. I worked until I was 60 which was 9 years before I had to quit due to my arthritis and depression.

Boy, it really seems like the promises are coming true for me. I still have the water situation to work out, but you know what? It's not even bothering me! I spoke with them today, they don't have any plans in place to help folks in this situation, but one of my friends in AA has a Dad who does this sort of stuff, waiting for a call from him and if that doesn't work my ex has a friend with a back hoe and we'll just do it ourselves. I have faith that it will work out. I can't believe that I just said that!!!
Thanks to all my friends here...I stay sober cause of you guys!

Awesome !!!!!
I was out of work the first 6 months of sobriety. I interviewed, and got a pretty good job. But they kept talking about layoffs. After 5 months there, the job I'm in now (much better nad good $$$ ) literally fell in my lap !
That's the program and your HP working in your life, no doubt about it !
