Hi everyone, I'm back and OK
Wow, what an absolute mess the last couple weeks.
Yes, I relapsed and wound up back in detox yet again.
I needed to make some really major decisions concerning my sobriety and my future.
It had been suggested to me the last several times that I detoxed, that I really should concider a halfway house, or other form of long term treatment / support.
I finally listened and I am now in a sober house up in the great state of Maine.
This is a 6 month to 1 year commitment.
The only thing I can say is that in the long run, 6 mo to 1 yr is really a very short time.
If I don't stay sober, I probably won't be alive that long anyway.
Very tired now, and limited internet access, so I will check in more when I am able.
Everyone here means so very much to be and I wish I could just give all of you a hug!

Hey Ted,
Nice to hear from you, and even better to hear you have a recovery plan. The fall in Maine is awesome with the changing foliage. Enjoy the nice clean air, and the rocky coast of Maine. I did Outward Bound in Arcadia Park after high school, and the scenery was breathtaking.
Keep posting when you can.

i don't know you, but wish you the best of luck. if you can, please let me know what it's like at rehab, my uncle went to one for 6 months and never drank again (unfortunately he didn't give up cigarettes though and ended up dying of lung cancer years later). i wish i had the means to do the same, so maybe i can live vicariously through you

Ted man I am glad you are back, PM me the name of the place you are at. I will need to check it out and see if it gets the old alkies stamp of aproval!!! LOL The stamp of aproval and a buck 50 will get you a cup of coffee!!! LOL
Ted you are doing what you need to do, a lot of folks talk a lot of talk about recovery but never do what ever it takes to get and stay sober.
