Update & Question of anyone in Colorado Springs
Hi family,
I have not posted much lately but wanted to share some of what has been going on with me. As of last Friday I got married to someone who I have shared the rooms with for several years. It was really cool to have a bunch of my recovery family there. Other than being dressed up it ultimately ended up feeling like an AA dance LOL!
I am currently in Colorado Springs until 9/20. We've already made a meeting last night but was just curious if we have any members in the area who could suggest the meetings they like and if they would be interested in a meet n greet. If so, just PM me.
I celebrated 3 years sober last month and have to admit that in the hoopla of the wedding plans it was almost a non-event. I promised myself that if I lived through the wedding then I was going to turn up the meetings to include other areas and working more with others.
In the meeting I was in last night I had two people share that really made me sit up and listen. One had 23 years, got hold of some cough meds and then relapsed for a year. Another has a little more time than me but has been slacking on meetings and the program and is feeling the results of complacency. I am terrified of what the first one shared and battle the complacency thing at times. It just helped to renew my commitment to my sobriety and trying to be of service to others. Part of that is getting on here more often and reaching out to my fellow A's as well as those who are seeking answers and support.
It's been a crazy year overall and I'm so thankful to have stayed sober throughout it. It was a matter of God doing for me what I couldn't always do for myself and I am VERY thankful.
Anyway, any CO people speak up and let me know and everyone else, know that I am back.
Take care,
Kellye C now!!!!

We are staying in a hotel over by the airport. We went to a meeting in Manitou the other night. One thing I can say for you guys, there are plenty of meetings! The aa website for Co. Springs was awesomely laid out!
We are headed to Royal Gorge today but I am very much interested in finding more meetings and fellowship with sober friends!
Thanks to everyones for their well wishes. Love you all!
