Smile You could even say:

"It's my first meeting and I hate being here," and I bet you'd still be welcomed.

I could end up finding out how much people enjoy being sober.
It takes a lot of energy and effort to hold onto the misery inside. The welcomes and the smiles could take that away in a split second.

Grasshopper my apologies, I am not in the best of moods today...... work..... but such is life.

You know I missed the "I will not", my bust totally and I agree with you whole heartedly.

However I read (between the lines LOL) " I can not" and I have a strong feeling that is what was meant.

There are those who call AA to talk to someone first, in our area 2 folks of the proper gender hit the road for a 12th step call.

I have a feeling that Tom like the other person I worked with who is now sober and has worked through the steps the first time had the same fear!

Tom call the AA hotline again and ask them what a 12th step call is and tell them you would like one because some AA clown on the internet said for you to get one! LOL

Grasshopper my apologies again.

HI Tom,

I understand your feelings about AA...I once didn't go on a regular basis, because I had slipped...I didn't feel I was worthy, and felt I was a huge disappointment...Wrong I was!

I was asked last week, "What are the meetings you need to go ?"

You need to go to the meetings you want to, AND the meetings you don't want to...

Thanks all. I haven't been on here since I posted this, because basically I've been drinking the whole time. 3 day weekend and the start of football season- just more excuses to drink. Today I am completely miserable and will try this all over again starting right now.

No I haven't yet. So much shame, embarrassment, and fear right now.

Sober football watching is interesting.
You can follow the plays and
you actually know who won!

BTW...many AA members I know are season ticket holders
that is possible if you no longer spend on hooch.

*gasp* What a concept. Extra money for treats.

Blessings

There is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. If you’re alcoholic, you're likely powerless brother. (And I want to leave "likely" out, but you never know.)
