Well....
What has your doctor recommended?
There are many varibles involved in where you go.

Insurance coverage....type of addiction or addictions
Your religion if any ... Your parents if you are a minor.

Please see your doctor for such a personal issue.

Then your user name is misleading.

I have no personal knowledge for you
as I did not go to a center.
I did recover using God and AA.

Well, I wish I knew what to tell ya, Problemchild, but I have absolutely zero experience with treatment facilities. Just 5-1/2 years sober the first time around and now almost 90 days this time by quitting cold turkey on my own, but it's not for everybody. If you're worried about severe withdrawal symptoms, you really should consult with your doctor first, like Carol said. In fact, since insurance is not a problem for you, then it'd probably be a good idea to see your doctor anyway, even if you're not concerned about withdrawal. Find a support group that you like and watch out for the "people, places, and things." Good luck to ya in your recovery.

Help
Ask your Doctor for a referral. If that isn't an option, get online and got ask.com.Ask your question like where is the closest rehab facility that deals with whatever your drug of choice is. If no luck there....go to your social services in your town....Viki

Okay, now I'm thinking of Angus having one of his "seizures."

pc this is just an old drunks suggestion because my road to recovery (After De-tox) has been AA, I would look for a 12 step recovery program the main reason being is that once you come out of the treatment center no matter where you go in the US and much of the world AA is there unlike all the other treatment centers that are not 12 step.

Do not get me wrong, there are some great none 12 step treatment centers out there and 12 step programs do not work for everyone, but I will stick with what has worked for me and has helped more alcoholics recover then all other programs combined.

I believe Betty Ford is a 12 step based program, but I could be very wrong.

Fellowship Hall in Greensboro is a good faciality. It's 12 step based, fairly "traditional" rehab. It's not fancy, but nice, located on about 80 acres, with walking trails, a pond, etc. They have a very good reputation in NC.

The Holistic Treatment facility in N. Miami Beach is a little different. It mixes 12 step with various holistic treatments like massage, diet, accupuncture, therapy, etc. You should be able to search for either one of these places for more info. Hope that helps. Take care.
