It's time to take the next step soon.
It's time to take the next step soon.
08/08/07 is the date I have picked to quit smoking. I know this is the wrong section of the forum, but I know you all in this forum section. I plan on posting in the nicotine section of SR. I'm sure some of you are wondering why I picked a date in the future, and just don't quit right now. The reason, I'm trying to enjoy my vice while I still have some time. Why lie?
I've smoked a lot longer than I drank, and this will be tough. I plan to attend nicotine anonymous meeting that a hospital has every Saturday. I will obviously also use the tools AA has given me, and my sponsor (a former smoker) has no problem helping me. I'm gonna need my higher power. I pray I can do this, and I know God can do for me what I cannot do for myself.
As the days get closer, I start to worry more. I don't want my son to grow up without a father because of lung cancer, heart disease, etc.
Please pray for me.
Tom

Hey Signal,
Good for you! I smoke too, and I've promised myself that my year sober birthday, I'll be done with the cigs.
There are a lot of medications that can help you quit. Might want to think about speaking with your doc about them. I used to work in a doc's office and I've seen the success stories...
