5 Days

Why does it feel like sooooo much longer? Both in a good way and a bad way. I'm pretty thrilled with my progress- - I missed my meeting today but I am WAY behind in office work. Not the best excuse I know, but I am checking in here and on another recovery board, and things simply had to get done around here.

Things I have found are better in my life without alcohol:

When I make mistakes onstage they are genuine and not a result of alcohol

I am not putting DH in a bad mood because he knows I'm drinking

Decisions I make are not suspected of being influenced by alcohol

I wake up refreshed- not thinking, "crap, I did it again"

Off to run errands. I can't believe how wonderful it is to wake up this many days in a row with no ill-effects from drinking.

Excellent, I'm glad you have an awareness of how good life can be without alcohol. Yes, it seems like forever but even that gets easier when you learn to live in the moment. Keep comin' back, I'm thrilled with your progress too!

Lol, yeah I used to think that every morning in the end, usually followed by "bugga, there's more in the fridge."

Freedom from alcohol is so wonderful, just have to remember that when the cravings kick in!

Congrats on your progress :0)

It is always so very wonderful to see someone sober.

I wish you the best.

Have you a plan to face those inevetable cravings?

Love,

Ted

Groucho, I have the beginnings of a plan... First- I am constantly keeping my white chip with me; I've not had to stick it in my mouth yet but I'm prepared to! And- I am armed with two phone numbers. One of a lady I met at a meeting last week, and the second is a friend who lives about 10 hours away and he has 23 years of sobriety on him.

If you have more suggestions I will listen gladly... I'm learning one can't be too prepared for anything, really.
