3 days

Chalk me up to 3 days... on the gig tonight I probably had 10 pangs of one sort or another... either a moment of "I should have a drink", or a moment of despair at someone else ordering one and I was not going to have one. But- - they all passed very quickly. I drank a bunch of diet coke and diet lipton tea, both of which tasted much better than usual. Probaby all mental.

DH offered me a drink tonight (HIGHLY unusual; he has always shown disapproval about me drinking). I turned him down. He said, "You're really serious about this detox thing, eh?"

You see- I have not yet included DH in my recovery. There have been so many times I said I'd take action... and disappointed both of us in the process. I WILL include him very soon, but it just doesn't feel like the right time yet.

Anyway, I told him yes, I was serious. He looked very happy about that. All in all, I am finding resolve in my meetings and reading posts and blogs of others online who understand what this is like.

Thank you... blessings and hugs to you all. Here's to another "today"!

You're stronger than I was. I couldn't even be around alcohol, it drove me so crazy. Awesome job at not caving to it

Congrats on your resolve not to drink, I don't think I'd like to go anywhere near alcohol for the time being, you're doing great :0)

Congrats and keep it up! In the beginning stages I definitely stayed away from alcohol being served around me. To me, it would be like playing with fire. Now I'm OK with it....sometimes.

Congrats on making it through that, you are doing well, keep up the meetings, meetings and working the steps with a sponsor have helped me stay sober and happy trmendously, as a a matter of fact without them there is not a doubt in my mind I would be drunk today.
