I prefer his Violin Concerto
but Moonlight is also excellent.

Glad to see you again!

Piano Concerto # 5. AKA, The Emperor. After that, probably Rachs 3rd.

I love Beethoven. But I lean a little more towards the Ruskies. I love Romanticism.

Mozart, though technically very good (and very difficult to play) as well as ahead of his time, is a little too Baroque for me. Not as much as, say, Bach though.

Moonlight is actually fairly easy to play. Especially if you transpose it to Dmin. C#min has a lot of black keys......

I'll spell this wrong, for sure - Rachmaninoff - #6 piano concerto.

I had to play that sucker in high school.

i wouldn't be able to negotiate 'chopsticks' any more, I dont' think.

Beethoven rules!

I love the Romantic period. Give me anything German or Russian with a massive orchestra, lots of drama and angst and I am happy down to my toes.

Good choice, Laszlo!

I'm into Wolfie's perfection. Every single note ... needs to be .. right there.

how'd he know that?

"Remove one note ... and there's diminishment" (from the movie)

plus ... he's nice and hyper.

Ever notice how these composers have really difficult names to spell.

I was worried

I was able to get to grade 12 royal conservatory and love playing. I was worried I would not have it anymore. I will have my vodka but only a little. Does anyone else remember their liver actually hurting?

I don't know about you, but "a little" is not in my vocabulary. Unless, of course, someone asks me how much I've ben drinking.

Does anyone else remember their liver actually hurting?
No. I don't even think the liver has nerves in it. If it swells, it will cause discomfort. It's on the lower right side of your belly, under the rib cage.

Your pancreas might be messing with you too. A lot of us have problems with ot.

Actually, there's a whole slew of problems you may or may not have. Go see a Doctor, but first.............

Quit Drinking

Yes...I remember the pain
so I went to my doctor for tests.

It was on my right side...partly
under my rib cage.
It ceased with abstinence...
as the doctor had predicted.

If you are having health problems
and ignoring them...
perhaps playing Chopins Funeral March
is appropriate.

See a doctor...quit the alcohol
and Bachs Ode To Joy can be true.

Wow, that really made me think!

I second Carol - please go to see your doctor if you are having health problems. It can be vital to your recovery I think. :0)

Ode to Joy was penned by Beethoven. Ninth Symphony in D minor.

I am learning the first movement of Beethovens Piano Sonata in F minor, op 2, no. 1. The only other Beethoven I have played was the first movement of the C major sonata. It was not easy, especially considering the fact that I was hung over most of the time while practicing it.

10th step correction ....

I am googling all night trying to find the piece I played -
it's NOT the concerto ...
duh ..
he only wrote like four or something like that -
I got it mixed up with our HS orchestra senior piece which was Tchaicovsky's (-sp) 6th symphony ... because I was first chair bassoon ...we played that one at State ...try that one on a HS senior - 81 measures of a bassoon solo in front of about eight hundred strangers .. for a score ... LOL

this was a prelude ... I THINK it was prelude in C minor.
(the Rachmaninoff)
I think.

Cant' find enough of the score to recognize it.
It's only been 30 years, y'all.
Gimme a break.

I got thinking about that this morning when I was trying to go to sleep ... been bugging me all day.
Rigorous honesty and all that.
