14 days unpickled

14 days already!

Hi guys, just checking in. I've now gone two whole weeks without a drink. This is quite amazing as far as I'm concerned.

I've been getting lots of support from all directions, AA members have been calling me, and I've been calling them. I'm going to my second meeting on Sunday and I'm off to see the counselor next weekend.

I have to say I've experienced crippling cravings, this evening I was desperate for a beer. I've also started to get a dull continuous headache, is this common? My short term memory has improved (I think), I'm not forgetting things so often anyway. My sleep has improved, I'm experiencing some really vivid dreams, loads of music in my dreams for some reason, I wonder what that's all about?

I've taken up meditation which is helping me remain focused.

The main thing I feel is a considerable sense of pride and achievement, I'm going to start running again soon, applying to run the Tokyo marathon.

Thanks.

I had it too... but I am pretty sure I was just dehydrated... vitamins... minerals... water... and rest...

of course it could be alergies... sinuses... who knows... I had a dull headache for some time... and it could have just been stess... I was a mess emotionally when I got sober...

Keep up the good work...

I found it best not to get too excited about accomplishing an level of sobriety... I got pretty excited about 30 days and I also had bad cravings at that time...

Now I just celebrate by giving thanks nightly for my sobriety... and in the morning I ask for help for today...

... a marathon... nice.. I'm a runner as well... training for a 1/2 marathon in aug...

GL

Have you had your eyes checked?
If 2 aspirins don't help your headache
I'd suggest you do that.

Glad to see your progress Pick!

Congratulations, I'm coming up to two weeks (the longest in 6 years) and my god it feels good. Take the advice of being thankful nightly though, one day at a time!

Cool! I ran while I was still drinking, talk about high functioning, I've completed two marathons the fastest being 3 Hours 38 minutes, London 2006. I want to know how I'll do now I'm sober, Boston qualification (you need to run sub 3:15 before you can even apply) is my ambition.

It really warms my heart to see a fellow drunk get sober, and join this thing called LIFE.
