Channel 4 UK >>> Drinking Yourself to Death

A very good documentary was broadcast in the UK tonight and whilst it wasn't specifically about alcoholism it demonstrated the damage that regular consumption is doing to people.

http://www.channel4.com/news/article...o+death/564762

The program also demonstrated that the Alcohol Industry (similar to the Tobacco Industry) has no regard for the longterm health issues that their products are causing.

saw that last night... very interesting and it just confirmed what I already knew: that the problem is massive in the UK... it was also nice to watch the program sober.... ;-)

Another eye opener, but hell my eyes are wide open already .
I would recommend this as well as "Rain in my Heart" for anyone that is not convinced that alcohol is death.

Rain in My Heart was sickening/saddening in the extreme.

I watched someone do it for real.
None of his 'buddies' or family would take care of him,
none of the rehab/emergency centers could take him.
They claimed there was no room.

He died july 9 , 2003.

It didn't stop me from drinking, though.

I watch these types of programmes precisely because I think they will help me stop. Hasn't happened yet.
