Did you talk with him after the meeting? But what a strange world. It happened again in the same day. Last night I went to an evening meeting with my wife. Again a guy shows up late to the meeting and sits down next to my wife. He also had been drinking. But there was a big difference. He shared. He told us that he had been drinking that day and told that his sponsor was not giving him the support he needed and that perhaps he was too needy. At the end of his share he asked for help. So he stuck around. My wife just gave him a big hug after the meeting ended and several of the male old timers walked over and engaged him in conversation. I hope both of them get the help they need. |

I've only been to two AA meetings I remember, one had the smell of alcohol which bothered me, the other had a wet lad turn up part way through, he talked a bit after he was calmed and it seemed like this was fairly typical but he was so young and so drunk and said such sad things I do hope he found solace. I found the unknown too hard to deal with and haven't attended groups for long years but sure I did back in my days of blackouts. I meant it seemed fairly typical of this particular meeting that the lad would turn up intoxicated... This is England Those experiences scared me but I found another way... Several years later without the groups that I found intensified my depression. Keep on keeping on Driving my wagon of hope through beautiful views on my road to myself |
We had a man show up totally stoned on pills. Then we didn't see him for a while. Well, he went to rehab and now he is back and comes to meetings every day. Third tradition |
