Rehab Tomorrow!
Hi,
I'm getting butterflies in my stomach at the moment and I'm sure they will be there for a couple more days, ack, maybe longer! Tomorrow is Rehab and the van will be arriving at my front door around noon for the 2.5 hour trek to the facility. Today is day 2 of sobriety for me ... I am looking forward to what this experience will bring me. I am looking forward to living a new, sober life.
I do know that this is going to be very hard, as I am never more than two days sober. But, just knowing I will be at the facility tomorrow is very comforting. Tomorrow is day 3 ... on day 3 I will do anything to get my hands on a drink. Any drink. I prefer beer, but whatever I can get my hands on will do. If there is nothing in the house and my husband is on my back for drinking, I'll head to the bar and grab a few quick ones (usually something with vodka) to get me through until I can buy my case of beer! Pathetic. But, like I said, I'll be at the center where they will be able to handle my cravings and withdrawal symptoms with experienced doctor's, nurses, mental health specialists along with clergy.
The place I'm going to is beautiful and I've researched it well. I believe I will be there for at least three weeks. One thing that's crappy is that there is about 8 inches of snow there right now ... boo! Where the heck is Spring?

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I made it through Easter Dinner without any alcohol!!!! And, that's awesome considering we had two family stops to make today.
Now, I'm just packing for my journey. I will post my experiences when I return.

Surly - Hi, I'll be there for 21 days. Should be back on April 30th.
And I'm still packing. I'm actually packing cloths for winter and spring. Sheesh. I wish the weather would make up its mind already.

Good luck MissKitty. I hope all goes well for you. We'll be here waiting for an update when you get home . Oh, and it really should be spring by the time you're back so you have that to look foward to also.
Miss Kitty,
You wil never regret this gift that you are giving yourself. You will emerge a different person, honest, open, and willing. With those three, you will begin the road to happy destiny. Hopefully you will bump into many of us on that road. I would wish you luck but God is with you, you don't need luck when you have Him.
Your in sobriety,
Ed

Yikes, it's finally here! I'm scared but happy at the same time. Three weeks is a long time to leave my home, husband, animals and family, but I'll have much quality ME time when I am there. How great is that? I will work on myself nonstop!!
Again, I know I would not have had the courage to admit to myself that I am an alcoholic and seek help. You all are the best and I thank God I found SR!!!

Well Val I am sure you are gone by now....... I was hoping to wish you the best before you left but I have just gotten out of the sick bed today!!!
Val you could not have chosen a better time of the year to go into rehab, the world will be in snow when you get there, but when you leave the world will be in full bloom with new life just as you are starting a new life.
