Friday night

How's the gang doing tonight ?

I had some major cravings after work - the time I'd normally drink, but I am doing great... It passed.

Got some DVD's, a bit of junk food and enjoying a quiet weekend in.

Toronto -

I've been to the German butcher. I picked up some rouladen (don't know what that is or how to cook it), German gravey (don't know what that is or how to cook it), and fresh brussel sprouts (guess what, don't know how to cook them either). I am going to serve with mashed potatoes and I do know how to cook them!! It should be an interesting evening for my husband.

It could be worse . . I could be drunk!!

Writing my "million dollars screenplay". Or, frankly, doing eveything to avoid writing

Had a pint of an ice cream, Mayan Chocolate, highly recommended, earlier.

Earlier today I was overwhelmed with a joy of a sober life. Just like that. I can only wish such a feeling would become my daily staple...

It's my "real" birthday... 35 today. So I consumed vast quanties of Chinese food, then I'll take a loooonnnnnggggg bath and then watch a fluffy John Grishman movie from Netflix with husband and son. My daughter is at a sleepover, you can hardly cancel that so we will go out for the "real" celebration tomorrow!!!!

Another nice thing about being sober: I can actually host sleepovers for kids now and reciprocate on all these lovely invitations my kids have been getting for so long!

Have a great night all,
~~xx

You wouldn't believe what I did.

I held a large-scale promotional night at my bar.

I'm so glad my HP has lifted my drinking obsession / compulsion. My alcohol problem doesn't get in the way of my business life any more. It didn't even bother me.

"though I may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil".

I came out a real winner tonight. I came out of it sober, after not even having ONE THOUGHT about having a drink. It was a miracle. The promotion was a smashing success on all levels.

After a day trip with my fellow Senior Citizens
(we went out of town to lunch...shopped...a Western Museum)

I went to bed listening to a mystery book.
Another plus of single living..
I can eat popcorn in my bed!!..

It's so great to live in sobriety.

Hiya TorontoGuy, had a quiet night last night, watching PVR shows. Talked to my girlfriend for a bit on the phone and she was on her way to getting drunk so I rung off. Funny thing is, I used to wake up after one of our Friday night drinking phone calls thinking how awful I was cause I was drunk and getting stupid, turns out shes that way too, I just never noticed cause I was too busy being drunk.

Sober time is eye opening I tell ya!

Good to hear all the positives.

Me? Last night leftover roast chicken and spaghetti. Bought some sirloin and it is marinating. I'll barbeque it tonight with some fresh asparagus. The weather here is nice for a change.

Yard work and car work today. Weekends are great

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed - but got dressed anyway and went outside to clean up all the dog landmines now that the snow has melted.
I slept horrible because I let the dog sleep with me - which I hate because she is restless and disturbs me - but I do it anyway because I want her to like me !! How sick is that?? She'll sleep in her crate tonight!
Going to a meeting soon - really need one.

Rowan, sorry your day started out so crappy.. (crappy, haha). We have landmines in our backyard as well but hubby takes care of that (thank god). Hopefully your meeting today will put you in better spirits.

Didn't realize you were in Barrie, ahhh cottage country!! And spring is on the way.

Came2believe,....HAPPY B-DAY! (better late then never)

:

My weekend has been good so far. Had lots of cravings Saturday evening though! I stuff myself with all sorts of junk food the whole evening,... but in the end, I still would kill for a nice cold beer. Sometimes it feels like a large hole in me. I throw in all sorts of stuff,... but it never gets filled!

But right now (Sunday, 11:30am) I'm feeling ok. Today will be a busy day. The next couple of weeks will be hectic at work. It's easter vacation (2 weeks) so the store where I work will be filled with yelling kids and stressed parents during that time.

Philip

ps: You all have a great (remainder of a) weekend! Love you all!
