Day 5
I am finally feeling less depressed and more hopeful. A friend from this forum has helped me find an AA meeting in my city that sounds awesome.
I talked to one of the group members today. She said I will get phone numbers and temporary volunteer sponsers are available.
I am actually quite excited about the meeting. It's on Monday.
I have something to focus on this weekend. I can't remember the last time I looked forward to anything.
Thanks for all of the support and kind words from those who care.

Good for you.
It sounds like you have some good people around you.
I am so glad when someone finally puts down the drink, it can be terrifying, but it's the best thing you will ever do.
(((hugs)))

Carol,
It makes my heart swell to see someone who has struggled as you have to finally have something positive occur in their lives. The beautiful thing about your post is that I saw nothing but hope and anticipation. Small, baby steps are all it takes to make a beginning. I am thanking God for the relief he has given you at least for today.
Yours in sobriety,
Ed
