No I have not...please read the lable before you
buy this.
By now your cravings are mental not physical.
Are you aware of PAWS?
http://www.tlctx.com/ar_pages/paw_part1.htm
I timed my cravings.
Mine were 5/7 minutes in duration.
I can overcome most things for that short time!
The longer I stayed sober
they lessened in both frequency and intensity.
Hang in it does get better!
Well done on your sober time!

The best way I found to deal with cravings was to call my sponsor or some one in my network, funny thing, the craving always seemed to dissappear just about the time they answered the phone.
Dragon,
Please forgive me if my assumtions are incorrect. Most people will try to quite drinking on their own. They find that when taking away the drink, they are still left with the underlying causes and conditions that led to their drinking to begin with. While I'm not promoting any particular program of recovery, I do suggest to anyone that they make face-to-face contact with others who are in the same situation or better yet, someone who has been through it and has been sober for a while. It's always nice to know you have company.
Please hang in there, it does get better,
Ed

Yes, congrats on 58 days!
Water, by the way .. you should drink lots and lots and lots of water! I also found that getting out and doing something that was very difficult to do while drinking to be a help. Hiking and trip to the park wityh the kids have been huge, huge, huge help to me. It felt good, though very hard at first, to feel my body working at something like hiking and climbing.

I still carry a water around with me, no wimpy bottle either, no sir I got a big orange mug that holds 52 ounces!
I sip it all day, (I pee a lot too).
When I get a bad craving, I usually call someone or eat Ice Cream or chocolate.
Hang in there and it will go away eventually!
Take care,
Ted

Welcome, Dragon.
I like to drink something with bubbles or something with body. Cold tonic water got me sober. Sometimes I'd go for a V8 or a tall glass of milk.
For me, the best thing to do was to talk with someone about how I feel.
PAWs is rough but it gets better.
Congrats on your 58 days sober. You are doing the right thing. You are not alone, and many of us have the same stuggles.
peace,
chip

Hmmm...
At the next meeting
go early and ask a man who has finished their steps
to be your sponsor.
If he can not...ask him to suggest someone else.
Ask the chairperson before the meeting.
You can also share in each meeting that you need one.
Pray and talk to every guy that has been sober
for awhile.
Blessings

D76 - back in December 2004, someone on this site said these words to me: Read the book "Rational Recovery, and you'll have no more issues."
I bought the book, read it, and haven't had an issue with alchohol since then. And believe me when I tell you, I was a very heavy drinker but was able to quit on my own. Best wishes.

Carol has suggested just what I would suggest, remember that you can not get what you have not asked for.
Go to the meeting early and stay late. The only thing I would suggest different then Carol is to ask someone to be your "Temporary" sponsor, when I first asked a guy to be my sponsor he told me no, he said he would be happy to be my temporary sponsor until I found someone I clicked with to be my permanent sponsor.
He explained that a sponsor is someone you need to be able to relate to and trust, he told me that I probably had not been sober long enough to really be able to develop a trust with someone yet...... he was right, he was a great guy and helped me out a lot in my first 3 months, but I did find someone who I did trust and relate to better then him.
My first sponsor and I get along great still and he was more then supportive when I told him I had chosen another person as a sponsor.
